Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and a businesswoman. She is a co-founder of The Huffington Post the founder and chief executive officer of Thrive Global and the author of 15 books. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news site is a popular TV show host, author, and an philanthropist. From Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England along with her family members at sixteen years of age. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA diploma in Economics. In her 21st year, she was the president of the well-known debating group The Cambridge Union' and was the very first foreign student to do so. Following graduation, she left her reputation as an editor for a conservative newspaper as well as with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she developed an online voice portal which included critical comments regarding the current political situation. The fame of Arianna led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their thoughts on news, politics and other topics. Arianna became famous in 2003, when she ran independently in a recall campaign in California for the seat of then-Governor Davis. Aside from that she was also the director of the Detroit Project to promote fuel-efficient vehicles. She was listed as 12th in Forbes' list of most influential women in the media. In the same year, Guardian listed her among the top 100 journalists. AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post in 2011 and named her the director of its media company, which also included several other AOL brands like Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was a management consultant and journalist. Though she shared a kinship connection to both her father and mother and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. Her leadership skills were evident at an early age. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education as well as enrolled at Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined the college debating group Cambridge Union where she became the first foreign and third female president.
